How can we create a sustainable activation program for over 800 refugee residents at the A&O Hostel in Amsterdam Zuidoost?

In 2024, we teamed up with COA to create a sustainable activation program for over 800 residents at the A&O Hostel on Hogehilweg 22. Our approach involves experimenting with various initiatives and collaborating closely with neighborhood organizations and the residents themselves. We’ve already hosted a range of activities, including karaoke nights, yoga sessions, painting workshops, movie nights, and jam sessions. We’re also helping in shaping the “Meedoenbalie” to connect residents with job opportunities, enhancing their engagement and integration into the community.

Bringing residents together through varied activities, we’re building lasting connections and opportunities between the A&O Hostel and the surrounding communties.
